The Mockingbirds were formed in 2016 by our founder Kyle Champeon. Having attended Berklee College of Music and being an active member of the Boston music scene, he surrounds himself with the many incredible musicians and friends he has met over the years.
Let’s rewind to how it all began: Kyle, a working musician for hire at the time, was growing tired of playing for large company wedding bands that performed the same tired, cliche material each night. It was hard to have fun and every single wedding gig felt the same as the last.
He decided to create a new, fresh take on what a wedding band could be. No more corny choreography or cheesy song choices. This band was going to be different: like having your favorite, fun bar band at your wedding! A band that would want to learn not just the standard wedding material, but expand the repertoire to include things like 90s and 00s pop/punk, classic rock, 2000’s pop, country, funk or anything a couple could throw their way!
“The Mockingbirds” was born.
Fast-forward to today: Kyle’s vision has come to fruition and the band is incredibly in-demand. Now playing 3-5 nights a week all year round, New England can’t get enough of The Mockingbirds. Whether they take the stage at a wedding, event, bar, or club they know how to read any room and electrify the audience. Everybody who has seen them play agrees: their infectious energy, passion for what they do, and always-expanding repertoire of songs sets them notches above the competition.
Every couple is different! We will work with you to find the perfect package for your vision and your budget. Flexible band size, services at ceremony and cocktail hour, party lighting, and live dinner music are just some of the things we have to offer.
With over a hundred weddings under our belt, we have the experience and knowledge to make sure your night is truly epic. We pride ourselves on our quick, clear communication. If you need to run something by us, we’ll always be right there to help and offer suggestions.
We give you input in what we play! Part of our planning process involves a survey where you pick out a selection of your favorite songs from our repertoire. We are also happy to learn a handful of new songs for you!
We’ll travel all across New England for your event, whether it be the Berkshires of Western Mass, the farmlands in Vermont, Nantucket Island, or anywhere in between.
With 14 hours worth of songs in our repertoire, we come ready to keep the dance floor packed for the whole night. We’re also happy to learn songs at your request, and we are fully capable of adding a musician or instrument of your choice to our band.
The Mockingbirds blew us away! We had high expectations and they 100% exceeded them. From the first inquiry conversation through the week of the wedding, they were great on communication and answered all of our questions. They were incredible and kept our dance floor entertained and dancing literally all night. For a fun wedding experience we cannot recommend them enough!

Very tight band, formally trained, and with an ability to play a broad range of music. We booked them for our 25th anniversary party, where they put on a rocking performance. We'll definitely be seeking out the services of The Mockingbirds for special events.

All of our guests have been RAVING about The Mockingbirds since the wedding! I cannot say enough good things about them. First, they were easy to work with and organized. Kyle checked in with me a few times a year during the planning stages to go through the whole process of what they offer and what we were looking for. They have great suggestions if you're struggling to decide certain music and they know the industry well. For a high strung bride like myself who worries about everything, I didn't have one stress working with them. They can read the room incredibly well and keep the party going! Our dance floor was full the entire night. All of the musicians are incredibly talented and put on an amazing show. Book The Mockingbirds for your wedding and you won't regret it!!
